Sequence tagging of vesicles

Sequence tagging of vesicles may be exploited for unique identification of individual containers as well as for addressing these to predetermined geographic locations in (micro)fluidic systems or in living organisms. Thus packages (“nanocontainers”) of chemicals can be spacially and kinetically addressed to perform chemical transformations at specific micro/nano-locations and for cell/tissue/organ directed delivery of medical drugs in disease treatment regimes.

This concept is a prerequisite to the "magic bullet" or the perfect drug, the Holy Grail of medicinal chemistry, which targets and delivers drug to a specific site, killing  the diseased cells without damaging healthy tissues. See more here.
