Summary of application potential of chemical subsystems

We envision that en route to evolvable artificial cells the chemical systems use specificity of nucelic bases in more than one way, i.e., not only for self-replication, namely for container
tagging/addressing as well as for guiding chemical reactions.

Experimental (kinetic NMR titrations) and anlaytical (SimFit software) tools, developed during PACE, will be extremely valuable, if not indispensable, in the search, understanding and modelling of artificial cell systems and ultimately of the mechanisms of Darwinian evolution.
