The primary role of the Centre has been to promote, realize and coordinate the research activities in PACE, and develop collaborations among the several research group partners. The Centre has provided a rich context for the multidisciplinary scientific developments needed for Living Technology and a forum for informed debate of issues facing the responsible creation and use of new forms of life. Dissemination of the scientific and technical results and training have been also important aims of the Centre.
